KnE Publishing Support Services Terms and Conditions for Submissions
These Terms and Conditions (‘Terms and Conditions’) apply to the use of the KnE Publishing Support Services (hereafter referred to as ‘KnE Publishing Support Services’ or ‘us’) Author Services website.
By accessing or using this website (directly or indirectly) you, the customer (hereafter referred to as ‘You’), agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions outlined below, please do not use the website.
1.1. To register with KnE Publishing Support Services you must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
1.2. You must ensure the details that you have provided on your registration are correct and complete.
1.3. You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided when registering by doing one of the following:
1.3.1. Logging on to our website and amending your details in the Customer Portal.
1.3.2. Contacting us via telephone.
1.3.3. Emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Password and Security
2.1. When you register to use the KnE Publishing Support Services website you will be sent an email containing a password.
2.2. You must change this password once you have confirmed your account and must not disclose it or share it with anyone.
2.3. You will be responsible for all activities and orders that occur or are submitted under your password.
2.4. If you know or suspect that someone else knows your password you should notify us by contacting email@example.com.
2.5. If KnE Publishing Support Services has reason to believe that there has been any breach of security or misuse, we may require you to change your password (or temporarily suspend your account).
3. Description of Service
3.1. KnE Publishing Support Services and any services, products or information offered by its owners, employees or through the website www.knepublishingmanuscripts.com shall, from here, be known as ‘the Service’.
3.2. You understand and accept that the Service is provided ‘as is’ and that KnE Publishing Support Services is not liable or responsible for the reliability or availability of the Service.
3.3. KnE Publishing Support Services also reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Service with or without notification.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
4.1. KnE Publishing Support Services, its employees and editors (after signing a confidentiality agreement) make no claims of ownership on any work submitted by you for language editing and related services provided via KnE Publishing Support Services' website www.knepublishingmanuscripts.com.
4.3. You agree that any files you submit via the website customer portal including papers, images, figures, tables, etc., will not contain any illegal, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, defamatory, racially or otherwise offensive material, or any content which could lead to legal action against KnE Publishing Support Services and/or tarnish KnE Publishing Support Services' public image and reputation.
4.4. KnE Publishing Support Services has the right to refuse to provide the Service should any files contain such material.
4.5. KnE Publishing Support Services is not responsible for making backups or any archive copies of files submitted by you and is not, under any circumstances, responsible to you or any other person for any loss, corruption or alteration of such files.
4.6. You acknowledge that KnE Publishing Support Services owns all rights, title and interest in the Service (the ‘KnE Rights’) and such KnE Rights are protected by UK/international intellectual property laws.
4.7. You also agree not to use any computerised technologies e.g. robots, spiders or other automated devices or manual processes to monitor or copy content from the website.
5. Notification of Infringement
5.1. Notifications of any alleged infringement of intellectual property should be sent via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
6. Use of the Service
6.1. KnE Publishing Support Services agrees to carry out the Service requested in a professional manner, in the timeframe specified during the initial order, while taking into consideration any additional instructions given by you with regard to the work to be carried out.
6.2. KnE Publishing Support Services has the right to request further materials from you in order to complete the work efficiently, for example, asking for the provision of figures, tables, or graphs as necessary.
7. Timeliness of Delivery
7.1. If materials are not received promptly on request then the completion date for any work will be extended by the number of days it takes for these materials to arrive (e.g. if figures are requested for a paper and these do not arrive for four days, then KnE Publishing Support Services will add four days onto the completion date you were originally provided).
7.2. Any additional modifications/amendments/additions requested by you, after the initial order for the Service has been placed, may be subject to an additional charge or extension of the completion date.
7.3. Such additional charges or delivery date extensions will be communicated by KnE Publishing Support Services within one business day of receiving the necessary materials to continue with the work.
7.4. Authors should take care to upload the correct files, and be sure of their intentions for KnE Publishing Support Services to carry out the Service when submitting their manuscripts as costs will be incurred and payable by the author.
8.1. If you have selected payment up front, you will be provided with the complete paper on completion of the editing process via an automated email notification.
8.2. Where payment on completion is selected, you will be provided with a sample of the polished/edited manuscript prior to making payment.
8.2.1. Once you have reviewed the sample and approved the quality of the work, you will be required to pay the full amount requested by KnE Publishing Support Services within three working days.
8.2.2. The completed manuscript will be made available to you when payment is received in full.
8.3. Please note that the word count of your paper will be checked on submission in order to validate that the file and work required tally with the relevant service ordered.
8.4. Payment will be required based on the validated word count once your files have been checked.
8.5. You will be notified by email with details of the correct amount to check before proceeding.
8.6. Please note that payments made by bank transfer are subject to additional fees which must be paid by you at the time the payment transaction is made.
8.7. Your completed paper will be returned in the file format in which it was received in via our website and supported by an email notification.
8.8. You agree to pay, in full and within three working days, the amount requested by KnE Publishing Support Services for the Service provided – whether requests for payment are made online or via a printed invoice.
8.9. Pricing details can be found on the website.
8.10. Any failure to comply with a request for payment could lead to further charges and/or the initiation of legal proceedings.
8.11. Should you withdraw any work from KnE Publishing Support Services, for any reason, following the initial order, then you will be liable to pay for any work carried out up to the time/day when this work was withdrawn. You will be advised of any charges incurred at this time.
9.1. Should you not be entirely satisfied with the Services carried out by KnE Publishing Support Services, then you are entitled to a second round of editing on the same manuscript for free within a mutually agreeable timeframe. However, any amendments requested at this stage that were not part of the original order (for example, text additions/deletions, or comments from our editors not being responded to) may be subject to an additional charge.
9.2. If KnE Publishing Support Services deems the complaint to be unfounded, and any problems not the fault of KnE Publishing Support Services, then any further amendments may, again, be charged.
9.3. Any further complaints about the Service provided by KnE Publishing Support Services should be directed in the first instance by email to: email@example.com.
9.4. KnE Publishing Support Services will aim to respond to all complaints within one working day, within which we will acknowledge your communication and indicate the action we will take to investigate your complaint and the expected time for resolution.
9.5. If, after this time, any dispute cannot be resolved between you and KnE Publishing Support Services then a mutually agreed third party may be contacted to settle the issue.
10.1. Matters relating to the use of the site, including any disputes, will be governed and interpreted according to the laws of England and Wales.
10.2. Both you and KnE Publishing Support Services agree that any actions arising under this agreement shall be proper and brought in the courts of England and Wales.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability
11.1. The Service is provided ‘as is’ and without warranty of any kind including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free or uninterrupted service.
11.2. KnE Publishing Support Services makes no warranty of any kind with respect to the subject matter included herein, the products listed, or the completeness or accuracy of the information.
11.3. KnE Publishing Support Services disclaims all warranties, express, implied or otherwise, including, without limitation, all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11.4. You acknowledge and accept that KnE Publishing Support Services does not:
a) review the substance of documents submitted to it; or
b) guarantee the quality, accuracy or results of the services.
11.5 No refunds shall be provided except where indicated below.
11.6. KnE Publishing Support Services will not be liable for any damages indirect, special, exemplary, consequential or incidental arising from, or in connection with, the Service including, without limitation, any damages for lost profits or business interruption.
11.7. In no event will KnE Publishing Support Services be liable to you for any claims in the aggregate arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service, whether arising in contract, tort or any other legal theory including, without limitation, negligence or strict liability, exceeding an amount equal to the fees paid by you hereunder in the one year preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11.8. KnE Publishing Support Services is not responsible for, nor warrants the accuracy or completeness of, content you provide in relation to the provision of the Service.
11.9. KnE Publishing Support Services does not guarantee that such content you provide will be accepted for publication at any future date or by any publisher.
12.1. You may add a hypertext link to the KnE Publishing Support Services website on your own site, provided that the link does not imply or state any endorsement or sponsorship of your site by KnE Publishing Support Services.
12.2. You may not use any content from the KnE Publishing Support Services site including trademarks, copyrighted materials, logos, etc. without the written consent of KnE Publishing Support Services and/or the owner of the mark or right.
13. Notification of Changes
13.1. KnE Publishing Support Services reserves the right to change, add or remove parts of these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
13.2. The changes will only affect your use of the Service after the date the changes become effective unless we express otherwise.
13.3. Your use of the Service after this time will mean that you have accepted and agreed to any changes.
